Here are some key features of "Disk Image Droplet":

  • Created disk images will be located in the same folder as the file(s), folder(s) dropped.
  • If more than one file or folder is dropped, a disk image will be created for each dropped item.
  • It should work for Mac system versions 10.2 and later.
  • No indication of progress is displayed. I usually keep it in the Dock so that I can drag items to it there and note when it has quit by the appearance of the Dock icon (the droplet quits when finished).
  • Created disk images will be in compressed read-only format.
